De La Cruz Helps Dodgers Beat Infernos, 9-4
|
Los Angeles first baseman Ramón De La Cruz was a significant contributor in his team's 9-4 triumph over the Valley of the Sun Infernos. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once for the Dodgers. Vadim Shervashidze, the winner, improved to 1-2. He held Valley of the Sun to 2 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, while racking up 10 strikeouts. Losses have been few and far between for the Infernos, now 9-3.
De La Cruz had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, when he hit a 2-run single. The Dodgers went on to win.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said De La Cruz.
