Chicago Beaten, 1-0, by Cincinnati
|
Cincinnati left-hander Diego Bayona helped his team edge Chicago by the score of 1-0 in 10 innings. Bayona kept the opposing lineup in check. The Reds saw their win-loss record go to 64-78. At the same time, the Cubs fell to 98-44.
The Cubs had trouble solving Bayona, who surrendered no runs on 3 hits over 7 innings.
"It's no secret that good defense follows around people who throw strikes," said Cincinnati manager JD Schloss.
