The Kansas City Monarchs defeated the Texas Rangers, 6-4, at Mahomes Park. Robert Klinger was a standout performer for Kansas City. His 2 hits included 1 single and 1 double -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 2 he knocked in. Kansas City pitcher Benjamin Gaidos got the win. He's now 7-3. Duy Thanh Nguyên was tagged with the loss. Gabriel Zepeda notched his 28th save in 38 chances.

Klinger had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Duy Thanh Nguyên, he banged a run-scoring double to left, giving the Monarchs a 5-4 lead. It was the 31st double of the year for Klinger.

"The most important thing is that we won," Klinger said.

The first-place Monarchs improved to 89-51.
