Neill, Bombers Too Much for Red Sox
The Bronx Bombers grabbed a win, 7-4, over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. Bronx center fielder Morey Neill was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Jimmy Lassiter, the winner, improved to 10-14. He held the Red Sox to 2 runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 4. The save went to Shigeya Ueno, number 12 for him.

Bronx grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Neill, who leads the AL in total bases with 337, hit a grand slam home run. His 42nd home run of the season put the Bombers out in front, 6-2.

Neill said afterward that he was glad to help his team win.

The third-place Bombers are now 65-70, the Red Sox 80-55.
