The Boston Red Sox downed the Portland Rose, 8-5. The hitting star was left fielder Ricardo Abonce. Abonce went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Red Sox. At 53-80, the Red Sox claim third place in the American League East.

Boston got a game-changing hit from Jacob Saylor. The catcher blasted a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a winner.
