Spiders Sneak By Rangers, 6-5
|
The Cleveland Spiders topped the Texas Rangers, 6-5, in American League action at Globe Life Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cleveland pitcher Geon-Ho Kim. Roberto Galvez was called on to finish, recording his 16th save. Cleveland is second in the American League Central with a record of 75-52.
Cleveland used the timely hitting of Severino Gauna to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Spiders on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"When Geon-Ho is on, he can really move the ball around," said Cleveland manager Nakashi Spiders.
