Montreal Defeated By Aviators, 4-2
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Charlotte Aviators and Montreal Expos.
Charlotte picked up a win at Ally Ballpark of Charlotte, bumping off the Montreal Expos, 4-2. Pitcher Daniel Vandenburgh was a major reason the Aviators emerged victorious. Reliever Wilber Casanova picked up the win. His record improves to 6-11. Yunal Perez took the loss. Picking up the save was Brady Nahrgang. He's now 1 for 1 in save chances.
Had Jackson Frederickson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Frederickson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Aviators.
Frederickson told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
The victory puts Charlotte at 51-74.
