Hammers Defeated, 5-2
|
The Atlanta Hammers got a superb performance from pitcher Leo Preze, but the Washington Nationals still won the game, 5-2. Preze came in in relief and pitched to 19 batters. Aarón Velasco earned his 18th save in 25 chances. Washington's record now stands at 51-59, placing them second in the National League South.
Lo-Un Lee had a big 2-run double for the Nationals in the bottom of the first inning. With Washington leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Tong-Yeop Lee, who finished 3rd in the NL in wins with 18 in 2083, and swatted a double to center. It was his 17th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Nationals ahead, 3-0.
"Just trying to help my team," said Lee. "That's all I want."
