Franco King of Fling with No-Hitter
The Los Angeles Angels were just hoping for a solid outing from Alfredo Franco. Instead, they got something special.

The 26-year-old hurler tossed a no-hitter against the Bronx Bombers, helping the Angels take the 10-0 win.

"I felt good throughout the game," he said after his spectacular outing for the Angels. "As I was going into the ninth inning, I wasn't nervous. I knew I had a chance to do something special."

Franco's repertoire has a slider, fastball, splitter, sinker, and changeup, and he used it all to full advantage, keeping the Bronx hitters off balance all game long. The Los Angeles hurler fanned 7 and walked 3 in his history-making performance.

"His slider looked about the size of a watermelon seed and it hissed at you as it passed," Bronx manager Brandon Bombers joked after the game.

Checking out his stats for the season, Franco has registered 6 wins and 5 losses in 22 starts, posted a 4.53 ERA, and struck out 98 batters in 131 innings.
