Twins Deal Spiders 7-4 Setback
|
The Minnesota Twins defeated the Cleveland Spiders, 7-4, in American League action at Progressive Field. Minnesota pitcher William Heller had a standout performance. Heller got the win, improving to 6-6. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. Heller allowed 3 runs. Stan McMullen nailed down his 14th save.
Minnesota used a well-timed hit by Rakpong Rachotai to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Twins ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Heller said after the game.
With the win, Minnesota has a record of 34-63. Cleveland falls to 58-39.
