Red Sox Score Late to Nip Twins, 6-5
|
The Boston Red Sox racked up a win at Fenway Park, bumping off the Minnesota Twins, 6-5. Victor Marín, who started for Boston, pitched effectively for his team. The Twins, now 51-39, have lost 4 straight.
The decisive blow was delivered by Hoàng My Lê in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 27-year old left-handed pitcher Phoenix Rinkenberger to win the game for Boston. The home crowd went nuts.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Minnesota manager Kevin Twins. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
