Dodgers Batter Mariners, 15-2
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers cruised to a win over the Seattle Mariners, 15-2, at Dodger Stadium. Gabe Tucker led the way, going 3-for-5 for Los Angeles. Iñigo Armenta, who is tied for 7th in the NL with a 7.1 K/9 rate, was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, with 5 walks and 5 strikeouts. Los Angeles is now 35-47, Seattle 41-42.
The Mariners had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Dodgers going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old left fielder Candy Navarro came to the plate. Navarro hit a 2-run double on a 1-0 fastball from Seattle hurler Enrique Garza. It was Navarro's 6th double of the year.
Seattle manager Alex Pynes summed up his team's performance in one word: "Pitiful."
