Big Game from Soriano Not Enough, Rangers Lose
The Montreal Expos overcame a pretty good performance by Texas second baseman David Soriano, beating the Rangers, 9-7, at Globe Life Field. Soriano was 3-4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Levente Nagy picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-4. Duy Thanh Nguyên, who is tied for 10th in the AL in saves with 10, was tagged with the loss. Urano Remo got credit for the save for Montreal. It was his 16th of the year.

Montreal used the timely hitting of Brantley Mead to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Expos on top, 9-7. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Mead.

At 40-41, the Expos find themselves in second place in the National League East.
