Both teams had their chances, but the Bronx Bombers eventually prevailed.

The Bronx Bombers withstood a fine game by Cincinnati catcher Walter Alcazar at Great American Ball Park, to upend the Reds, 6-5. Alcazar went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The Bombers win now puts them at 36-41.

Bronx used the timely hitting of Pietro Palogruto to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bombers on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Palogruto told the Bronx Gazette.
