It went the distance, but the Aurora Tsunami finally disposed of the Gill Whalers 13-9 in the series clincher at Ballpark of Gill.

Winning the finale gave the Tsunami the series, 4-3. They will now advance to the Round 2.

The Most Valuable Player Award went to Aurora left fielder Isador Jauregui. He batted .444 in the series, collecting 5 RBIs and scoring 9 runs.

"Isador deserves it," said Tsunami manager . "He was the glue that held our club together."

The Aurora Tsunami will play against the St. Petersburg Snappers in the next round. St. Petersburg won their series against the Clarks Diablos 4 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
