Pirates Advance to Pioneer Series
|
The sweet swing of Nongchai Jirapajaratphong has led his team through the Round 1.
The Lafayette Pirates star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Everett AquaSox to advance to the Pioneer Series.
The Pirates won the final game at Melaleuca Field by a score of 2-1 and the series 2-1.
"I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Jirapajaratphong. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs."
For the series, Jirapajaratphong hit .556 with a .667 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Lafayette Pirates will play against the Hickory Crawdads in the next round. Hickory won their series against the Ogden Raptors 2 games to 0. The Pioneer Series schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
