Ozaki Cracks 5 Hits
Toshitsugu Ozaki exploded for a barrage of base hits at Screaming Eagles Field.

The Covelo second baseman had a field day in his team's 15-5 triumph over the South Gate Chaparrals, finishing 5-for-6.

"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Ozaki must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Toshitsugu Ozaki hit a two-run double in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Hector Carlos in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

This season, Ozaki is batting .531 with 17 hits, 1 home run, 8 RBIs, 3 walks, .571 OBP and has scored 5 runs. He has played in 11 games.
