Walsh Tosses Shutout Against South Gate
The South Gate Chaparrals were almost helpless in their 5-0 loss to the South Bend Blazers and hurler Chance Walsh. Walsh kept the Chaparrals confused all game, spinning a 7-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Walsh," South Gate manager said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 22-year-old left-hander had no walks and 10 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Walsh said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."

In 9 starts this year, Walsh has crafted a 3-4 record and a 5.36 ERA.
