Rangers Squelch Thoroughbreds Offense in Shutout Win
Texas Rangers pitcher Yarlin Vargas was in fine form, leading his team past the Orlando Thoroughbreds, 3-0. Texas reliever Bach Luong was the winner. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Timo Bonifacio. The Rangers now have a record of 19-39.

Texas used the timely hitting of Remington Brane to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rangers on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Main thing is I want the team to win," Vargas told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
