Rice Torches Trash Pandas for 5 Hits
Speaking with reporters after a dominating hitting performance, Nate Rice said his club's tilt with the Rocket City Trash Pandas "felt almost like batting practice." The 23-year-old second baseman went a remarkable 5-for-6 at the plate.

"I saw the ball well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted," he recalled later.

However, his sensational day wasn't enough for the Pascagoula Cannons, who were topped by the Trash Pandas, 5-4.

"It's a good lesson for him, I guess," Cannons manager said. "Sometimes Nate is going to lose. But I would rather him go 5-for-6 and lose than go 0-for-6 and lose."

Nate Rice flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and doubled in the 10th.

Thus far this year, Rice has hit .313 with 26 home runs and 79 RBIs.
