The Anchorage Otters defeated the Portland Rose, 6-4, in part because of right fielder Ángel Soto. Soto went 2-5 with 2 home runs for the Otters. Ricardo Acosta earned the win to go to 8-3. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. Hiroki Chikafuji earned save number 10 this season.

Anchorage took a 3-1 lead on Soto's 44th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Jim Boesen in the top of the sixth, propelled Anchorage to the win.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Soto told the Anchorage Daily.
