Zarate Lifts Angels to 7-2 Win
|
The exploits of second baseman Eudoxio Zarate helped the Los Angeles Angels defeat the Seattle Mariners, 7-2. Zarate was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. With the win, the Angels have a record of 80-77.
The Angels got a big hit from third baseman Stanton Randall. Facing Seattle pitcher Marc Gutiérrez in the bottom of the fifth, Randall pounded a run-scoring double to center. His 25th double of the season put the Angels ahead, 3-1.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Zarate. "You've got to get results."
