Cardinals Sneak By Mets, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring game between St. Louis and New York, pitcher Todd Travers was excellent. The St. Louis right-hander helped his team knock off the Mets, 2-1. The win was credited to Solano Garza in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Ha-Ram Jung took the loss. After today's action, St. Louis sits at 73-81, while New York falls to 72-81.
Otto Robertson was the walk-off hero for St. Louis. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cardinals catcher hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said New York manager Adam Brown.
