Fans saw a dandy of a game between the New York Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates.

Felix Serna was locked and loaded, helping the New York Mets beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 1-0. The winning pitcher was Serna, now 9-6. He tossed 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 4. Hidehiko Tone got credit for the save for New York. It was his 12th of the year.

The Mets got a big at-bat from left fielder Owen Leahy. For the game, Leahy went 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave New York a 1-0 lead.

"I really like what we did out there today," Leahy said after the game.

The Mets improved their record to 83-69 by beating Pittsburgh.
