GCL Blanks Yankees, Hernandez at His Best Friday, July 11th , 1980 Manny Hernandez had an impressive outing at Allyn Field today, hurling the GCL Astros Blue to a 3-0 shutout victory over the GCL Yankees. "He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," GCL skipper Luke Ferguson said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders." On the day, the right-handed Hernandez yielded 2 hits and tallied 6 strikeouts with 2 walks. This season-to-date Hernandez has 4 wins and no losses and a 1.61 ERA. |
