Flanagan Shines in 10-0 Gem Wednesday, June 4th , 1980 Grays Harbor Loggers starter Mike Flanagan really did a number on the Eugene Emeralds today, shutting them out 10-0 on 5 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 1 walk and had 7 strikeouts. "We didn't have good at-bats," said Eugene manager Ben Nelson. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Flanagan." This year Flanagan has gone 11-1 with an ERA of 2.19 and has 49 strikeouts in 98.2 innings. |
