It's Over: Trojans Stop Hill
Thursday, April 30th , 1987
Late in the game, all eyes in Ainsworth Field were on Roger Hill as he stepped into the batter box. His 22-game hitting streak was on the line, and he had a zero in the hit column on the day. Sadly for Hill, it was not meant to be -- the zero would stay and the streak would end.

If there was a silver lining for Hill today, it was that his Erie Cardinals won the game anyway, stopping the Batavia Trojans by the score of 3-2.

"Winning took some of the disappointment out of it," Hill told reporters in the clubhouse. "Looking back on it, it was a great experience. Not too many players can say they had a hit in 22 straight games. It's something I will always remember."

Posting a .343 batting average to date, Hill has no home runs and 7 RBIs.
