Yankees Rees Strikes out 18 Clippers Friday, June 29th , 1990 Led by an outstanding performance from starter Sean Rees, the Oneonta Yankees topped the Batavia Clippers today by a score of 13-5 at Dwyer Stadium. The 20-year-old Rees brought his top game to the mound, striking out 18 batters while allowing 8 hits and giving up 1 walk. "He made a lot of good pitches out there," Clippers manager Alfonso Alday said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes." |
