Johnny Abrego Blanks Niagara Falls, 7-0 Wednesday, July 10th , 1985 The Niagara Falls Sox met their match today in Oneonta hurler Johnny Abrego. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 6-hit shutout. "He just worked us over," Niagara Falls skipper Jim Gentile said. "He probably didn't even need a shower after the game -- he barely worked up a sweat." In the 7-0 victory, Abrego whiffed 13 and gave up no walks. This year Abrego has a 9-3 record with a 1.48 ERA in 17 starts. |
