Hawkins Guns Down Silver Sox Saturday, September 24th , 1988 Andy Hawkins of the Fresno Suns shut down the Reno Silver Sox 4-0 on a 4-hitter, holding them scoreless while ringing up 5 strikeouts and allowing 1 walk. After the game Hawkins said, "Guys have been fouling off a lot of pitches lately and I've been getting into too many deep pitch counts, but I'm pleased with the way things went today. I went right after them and stayed ahead in the count." In season stats Hawkins shows a 23-5 record in 33 games, 267.2 innings, 189 strikeouts and a 2.25 ERA. |
