MIDW Star of the Week Named Monday, July 23rd , 1990 What's in a number? In baseball, just about everything. The numbers that Springfield's Jeff Barry put up last week were the envy of the league, as Barry came away with Midwest League Player of the Week honors. He belted out 10 hits in 23 at-bats, 3 home runs and 9 RBIs last week as he posted his .435 batting average. For the season Barry is currently batting .317 with 15 home runs and 90 RBIs. In 99 games he has reached base at a .402 rate and scored 86 runs to date. |
