EL Best Manager is Rodriguez of the A's Friday, September 28th , 1984 A baseball manager's success usually depends on the talent of his club, but in the case of Juan Rodriguez, he seems to have taken the Albany-Colonie A's to a higher level and gotten his just due. He was named this season's Manager of the Year in the Eastern League for leading the team to a very rewarding season. "Everyone on the team put in a lot of hard work this season," he told reporters. "It's always nice when it's acknowledged in some way." Rodriguez led Albany-Colonie to a first place finish in the Eastern League. The A's ended up with a 96-45 record. |
