Captains Come up Short of Playoffs Saturday, September 2nd , 1978 Shreveport Captains starting pitcher Mike Willis said it is a "bitter disappointment" for he and his teammates to miss the playoffs. The remarks came hours after the club was mathematically eliminated from 1978 postseason contention. In their 4 seasons in Texas League, the Captains have still yet to qualify for the playoffs. |
