McClendon Goes 5-for-5 Against Omaha Friday, August 31st , 1984 It was a parade of hits for Lloyd McClendon of the Wichita Aeros at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium today. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, McClendon finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Aeros to a 12-10 victory. "McClendon was really good and we were really bad," groaned Royals manager Nick Jennings. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Lloyd McClendon singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, tripled in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. For the season, McClendon is hitting at a .256 clip with 8 home runs, 65 RBIs and has scored 45 runs. He has 121 hits, 33 walks and a .307 on-base percentage. |
