Oester Honored by American Association Monday, August 29th , 1983 At the age of 27, Ron Oester might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Indianapolis second baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .500 batting average. For his efforts Oester collected the American Association Player of the Week Award. He racked up 13 hits in 26 at-bats, 3 home runs and 8 RBIs last week in 6 games. Looking at his season stats, Oester has compiled a .329 batting average and a .373 on-base percentage, while hitting 8 home runs and driving in 71 runs. |
