Kuntz Big Deal in Hawaii: Hits for Cycle Saturday, September 11th , 1982 Rusty Kuntz showed off his speed, his power and his plate discipline today at Aloha Stadium, putting together all facets of his game to hit for the cycle in the Hawaii win. The 27-year-old right fielder went 5-for-6, collecting 1 single, 2 doubles, 1 triple and 1 home run to help the Islanders top the Spokane Indians by a score of 16-5. A jubilant Kuntz told reporters afterward that the experience was "unimaginable." "Seriously, I would have been happy going 1-for-6 with just the double," he said. "So this feels incredible." For the day, Kuntz finished with 3 runs batted in and 4 runs scored to go with his 5 hits. Rusty Kuntz hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.
