Solons Sample PCL Hitter of the Week Monday, August 16th , 1976 Billy Sample has the tools to stick in this league for many years. The 21-year-old left fielder of the Sacramento Solons had a hot bat in the Pacific Coast League over the past seven days and won the Player of the Week honors. Sample batted .481 with 13 hits in 27 at-bats, no home runs and 10 RBIs. In 110 games this season Sample has compiled a .311 batting average with 132 hits and 5 home runs. He has also scored 74 times and knocked in 79 runs. |
