Giants End Green's Streak
Thursday, June 17th , 1982
Edmonton right fielder David Green came into today's game against the Phoenix Giants on a hot streak. He left on a cold one.

The Giants did their jobs well, beating the Edmonton Trappers 7-6 and holding Green hitless to snap his 26-game hitting streak. The 21-year-old right fielder had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-4, telling reporters only that he "came up short."

"What David did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Trappers manager Andrew Bass. "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 26 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."

Green is currently hitting at a .331 pace with 8 home runs and 48 RBIs.
