Johnson Has 20-Game Hitting Streak Wednesday, August 12th , 1981 Wallace Johnson, second baseman for the Albuquerque Dukes, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 1 hit in his club's 14-8 victory today over the Salt Lake City Gulls at Albuquerque Sports Stadium today. "Not the outcome we wanted," Salt Lake City manager Juan Flores said. "There's never a good time to lose, and it's never fun to be on the wrong end of somebody else's accomplishment." Wallace Johnson grounded out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th and hit an RBI single in the 7th. So far this season Johnson is batting .292 with 2 home runs. |
