Durham Gets Award for Relief Work
Thursday, September 27th , 1990
Eddy Durham said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 25 years old.

But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Rochester Red Wings rising star has won the International League Reliever of the Year Award for 1990.

He captured the award on the strength of his 3.43 ERA over 44.2 innings. He also had 14 saves in 42 relief appearances, 59 strikeouts and only 19 walks.

He received 5 first place votes out of a possible 8. Bill Landrum of the Columbus Clippers finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Curtis Ralph of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons finished third.
