Noble Holds Tides Scoreless Monday, August 14th , 1978 It was a smooth and solid performance by Roger Noble of the Rochester Red Wings against the Tidewater Tides today. He crafted a fine 6-hitter to blank the Tides 3-0. He chalked up 5 strikeouts and 4 walks along the way. "It certainly makes my job easy when my pitcher tosses a shutout," said Rochester skipper Marcos Flores. "I can just sit back, watch and enjoy." Thus far this season, Noble has tossed 154.1 innings in 21 starts, fanned 122 batters, walked 77 and put up a 4.32 ERA with 12 wins and 8 losses. |
