AL Premier Player Picked Monday, May 27th , 1974 So far in his young career, Oscar Gamble has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the AL in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 24-year-old New York Yankees left fielder hit at a torrid .483 clip as he collected 14 hits in 29 at-bats, 1 home run, 8 RBIs and 8 runs scored. This year Gamble is hitting .295 with 4 home runs. |
