Angels Hammered by Briggs, Drop Game 2 to Senators
Washington left fielder John E Briggs produced all the offense the Senators would need today in the club's 10-3 win over the California Angels.

Briggs was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4, while Washington moved into a tie in the WC. The Senators and Angels are now even at 1-1 in the best-of-5 series.

The Senators took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning. Facing California hurler Luke Walker with two outs, Briggs hit a 3-run home run.

Angels manager JB Lemmon did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the WS."
