It took 10 innings, but the Cincinnati Reds were able to beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 8-7, at Great American Ball Park. Wilson Betemit provided some offensive muscle for Cincinnati. He went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. The win belonged to Neal Cotts in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Kyle Kendrick took the loss for Milwaukee. The Reds raised their record to 79-75.

The Reds procured the win, in large part because of center fielder Sean Ratliff. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"On the outside I was calm," said Reds manager Steve Smith. "But inside I was a nervous wreck."
