Nationals Take Down Reds, 8-7
The Washington Nationals outlasted Jeff Francoeur and the Cincinnati Reds, 8-7. Francoeur was impressive in the loss. The Cincinnati center fielder belted 2 home runs. B.J. Borsa earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-3. The Nationals, at 21-36, sit in last place in the NL East Division.

The game came to a dramatic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Washington trailing 7-5, Sandy Madera hit a fastball from Cory Rasmus for a 3-run home run. It was the knockout punch the Nationals needed.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Madera said in his postgame press conference.
