Twins Lose Versus Boston, 6-5
|
Red Sox third baseman Ty Wigginton left his mark on his team's 6-5 win over the Minnesota Twins. Wigginton, who is tied for 4th in the AL in triples with 2, was 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Boston in the contest. Huston Street earned the save for Boston, his 9th of the year. Boston has 3 straight wins, Minnesota 3 straight losses.
Marion, Ohio-born Aubrey Huff came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Red Sox trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Boston on top.
"Fun game," said Huff, "even when the outcome was in doubt."
