Rangers Rally to Eke Out Win
|
Despite a great performance by Oakland right fielder Jason Kubel, the Texas Rangers defeated the Athletics by the score of 7-6 in 12 innings at O.co Coliseum. Kubel was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2. Dane De La Rosa earned the save for Texas, his 1st. With the win, Texas goes to 16-13.
The result might have been different, had it not been for former first overall pick Andrew McCutchen. McCutchen had a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rangers ahead, 5-4. For the game, McCutchen had 1 double and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
"Our team showed some gumption," said McCutchen. "I like it."
