Texas and Toronto put this game in the books despite some rain.

The Texas Rangers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-3, at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Texas was led by fan favorite Andrew McCutchen, who was 1 for 2 with 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Texas reliever Kevin Altman picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Andrew Miller absorbed the loss. Jason Monti notched his 14th save of the season.

Texas took a 5-3 lead on Matt J. Miller's 12th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Miller hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Toronto pitcher Jonathan Koller visibly frustrated.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Toronto manager Ethan B. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."

The Rangers improved their record to 31-37 with the win over Toronto.
