Due in large part to right fielder Jared Higgins, the Pittsburgh Pirates sunk the Cincinnati Reds, 9-3. Higgins went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs. The win has Pittsburgh at 13-21.

Pittsburgh second baseman Ramiro Cruzlopez contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 26th hit of the season and put the Pirates ahead, 6-2.

"Today was a lot of fun," said Cruzlopez.
