Galvez 5-for-6 for Powerhouse Friday, August 25th , 2023 It was a high-five day for Jonathan Galvez, at least for a while. The Ponce second baseman got plenty of them from his teammates when he reached the five-hit milestone during today's game against the San Juan Sharks, but they were in short supply at the end, as San Juan took a 5-4 win. Galvez finished with an impressive 5-for-6 line, but the Powerhouse couldn't hold off the Sharks. "Jonathan was hitting everything," said Powerhouse manager Luis Mendez. "It's too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion." Jonathan Galvez singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, flied out in the 9th, walked in the 11th and singled in the 12th. In 118 games this season Galvez has compiled a .251 batting average with 112 hits and 6 home runs. He has also scored 48 times and knocked in 43 runs. View Boxscore |
